The Anim.lu QR Code service: secure, modern access to your examinations

As of 1 July 2024, the HRS introduced QR code sharing of imaging examinations for patients and stopped distributing CDs/DVDs, in accordance with the provisions of the COM (Contrat d’Objectif et de Moyens) between the FHL (Fédération des Hôpitaux Luxembourgeois) and the CNS (Caisse Nationale de Santé).

How do I go about it?

After your X-ray examinations, you will receive a form with a QR code and a password that will allow you to access and download your medical imaging examinations.

Frequently Asked Questions QR code Anim.lu

I made ten mistakes when entering the security information for my medical imaging test and now access is blocked. What can I do about this?

For security reasons, access is blocked after ten unsuccessful identification attempts. Your account must therefore be unblocked.

You can contact  support.imagerie@hopitauxschuman.lu .

Please note: for security reasons, it is technically impossible to unlock your account repeatedly.

I'm having problems entering my date of birth correctly.

On the calendar selection bar, click on the year at the top.

The interface will automatically change to a year selection mode. By selecting the year, the interface will automatically change to a representation of the months. Once you have selected the correct month, you will automatically be taken to the window allowing you to enter the day.

Summary:

  • Enter the PIN code
  • Enter the date of birth in the correct format, using the separator “-” (no “/”, ‘_’ or “.”)
  • You can use the calendar to avoid errors

I logged in successfully, but I can’t see my exam..

This can happen for two reasons:

  • Exams become available within 24 hours to 3 days after this document is issued.
  • If you access the platform more than three months after the exam, the access code may have expired. In this case, you must request a new code (see point d).

Alternatively, you can view your exam via your Shared Medical Record (DSP).

How do I request a new access code?

You can contact  : support.imagerie@hopitauxschuman.lu

Go to the radiology reception desk at Zithaklinik or Kirchberg Hospital to request a new code (you will receive it immediately).

For QR code requests by email, you must include (for confidentiality reasons):

  • Patient’s national ID number
  • A copy of the patient’s ID card
  • Date and list of the exams to be included on the QR code

I can access my imaging exam but not the radiologist's report.

The anim.lu platform (part of the national imaging archive) does not contain medical reports. These are available in your DSP (Shared Medical Record) on the eSanté platform, which also provides permanent access to your imaging data.

You may also contact the radiology department where your exam was performed:

Kirchberg Hospital:

Zithaklinik:

Note: Exams performed before your DSP activation (after July 2021) may not be automatically included.

To request their addition, email support.imagerie@hopitauxschuman.lu

How do I access my DSP on the eSanté platform?

All relevant information is available on the eSanté portal.

Go to the « Patients » section and click the red « Connexion » button to log in.

For help, contact the eSanté helpdesk: (+352) 27 12 50 18 33.

Can I download the images from my exam?

Yes, absolutely.

In the viewer interface, look for an icon with three dots. Click it and select Export DICOM.

  1. List of exams linked to the QR Code, available for viewing and/or downloading
  2. If necessary, download the exam displayed

Once downloaded, you must unzip the file

At the top right of the browser, open the compressed file XXXX.zip.

Right-click, then “extract all”

  • On Windows, a viewer is included in the download.
  • On Mac OSX, we recommend installing HOROS.

The unzipped file contains the DICOM images and a DICOM viewer. This file can be opened on a PC or copied to a USB stick. (For sending by email, it is preferable to send the XXXX.zip file, which is smaller, and which the recipient will need to unzip).

  • Pictures DICOM (Radiological image format)
  • Viewer DICOM (Allows you to view your images (DICOM format) directly on your computer)

I had several exams, but I can’t see them all using the access link.

List of exams linked to the QR Code, available for viewing and/or downloading.

Each code is linked to a specific exam created by the radiology technician. Access to multiple exams is technically possible but requires a specific request, following the same procedure as for requesting a new access code.

How do I view my exam on a computer if I don’t have a QR code reader?

You can use your device’s camera or webcam.

Or free app  « CamScanner »

  • Alternatively, scan the QR code with your smartphone and email the link to yourself or your doctor for access on a computer.
